Kimberley Kirchner, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Kirchner grew up in the Berkshires, MA on a small hobby farm of pick-your-own blueberries with many more acres dedicated to nature conservation. Growing up with many types of pets (dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, horses, birds, guinea pigs, rodents…), Kim’s love for all animals was present at a young age. Having a mother as a nurse, Kim was enthralled with the medical stories that emerged from within the hospitals her mother worked at. Her father was a robust engineer who emphasized problem-solving and understanding the reason why something occurs before attempting to develop solutions. By 3-5 years old, Kim knew her future was clear: to become a veterinarian.

Kim graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2018. Her lifelong dream came true when she was accepted to Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2022.

Dr. Kirchner first heard of our two practices when she met Dr. Will at the Veterinary Leadership Conference in 2020. The next summer she spent a couple of days a week volunteering with our practice where she fell in love with the team and their dedication to delivering high-quality medicine.

Dr. Kirchner is extremely enthusiastic and is eager to serve as a robust general practitioner. She is willing to see most species that can come to the hospital and will make occasional house calls. Kim is especially fond of surgery, client communication, organizational leadership, and community engagement. She aspires to advance her surgical skills while inspiring younger generations to become involved in veterinary medicine.

In her free time, Kim loves to travel around the globe, hike in the Adirondacks, and cook exquisite cuisine. She lives locally with her 3 cats Knoley, Glia, and Little Man. Soon Kim plans to add a black Labrador puppy to her home.
