Dove Creek Animal Hospital’s Shelter Supply Drive Continues!
Donations to Dove Creek Animal Hospital’s Shelter Supply Drive go to the Montgomery County SPCA.
The holiday season is a lonely time of year for homeless and unwanted pets, but the volunteers at the Montgomery County SPCA make sure every Fido and Felix feels welcome and loved year-round. It takes hundreds of pounds of pet food to meet the needs of the abandoned dogs and cats the shelter takes in, and 100% of the funds that pay for those supplies come from donations. Without the support of local animal lovers, it would be impossible for the shelter to provide the care that these future family pets need and deserve.
Throughout the month of December, we will be collecting donations for Montgomery County SPCA at the hospital. Your generous contributions ensure that the shelter has the supplies and equipment needed to care for our county’s homeless animals. Not only will you be feeding and caring for some of our region’s most vulnerable creatures, you’ll be providing support to the dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to keep the shelter running.

A gift of money funds Montgomery County SPCA’s mission to promote public awareness about spaying, neutering, and proper pet care.
Funding is at the top of the shelter’s needs list. Your monetary contributions make low-cost spay and neutering services, low-cost rabies and vaccination clinics, and classes on training and healthcare available to everyone in the county. In turn, these services help to prevent over-population and abandonment and improve the lives of animals in our community and beyond. You can leave monetary and gift card donations in the collection box in our Amsterdam location reception area.
Tip: The shelter welcomes gift cards to local pet supply stores in Johnstown.

You can also donate high priority items that help the shelter provide protection, care, and shelter to homeless, abused, and neglected animals.
The following list includes high priority items that make a real impact on the lives of both the shelter animals and the volunteers. You can drop your shelter donations at 4798 State Highway 30 in Amsterdam during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 7:30-6).
We are accepting the following shelter supplies at our Amsterdam location.
- Purina Dog Chow
- Canned cat food
- Large Nyla Bones
- Large Kong Toys
- Dawn dish soap, paper towels, bleach, and other cleaning supplies
